Shooting Experience at Brantwood Lodge

Shooting Experience at Brantwood Lodge

The Flurry

Five station clays range where each shooter fires the shotgun in a 2:1:2 shot sequence at clays that mimic the flight patterns of grouse and woodcock. The clays move extremely fast and must be broken quickly before entering the balsams and tag alders. The range is lighted and open until 8 p.m. weekdays and 9 p.m. on weekends.

  • Cost per 25 clays round is $10.00/person.
    • We recommend using a break-action 20 or 28 gauge and 410 for the expert!

Covey Release

We have hundreds of Northern as well as Georgia Giant Bobwhite Quail that are living wild on the property in natural forming coveys that vary in size up to 30 birds due to our year round “Early Release” program that was established successfully in 2013 and continues today. We release a minimum 21 bird, “covey” in the field for up to two guns for a ½ day hunt.

  • Cost per each covey release $250.00.
  • Cost per bird over 21 taken is $8/quail, $12/ chukar, and $ 16/pheasant.
    • One covey release per two hunters is the minimum requirement.
    • Max hunters in the field at one time is 6 guns.
    • Hunters may purchase as many “Coveys” as they wish.
    • You will most likely encounter wild grouse and woodcock which can only be taken during season with a current WI small game license.
    • No license or season for the quail, chukar, or quail is required.

Sporting Birds

The game is excellent for dog training, new upland hunters, and upland hunters that are mobility challenged. The 1 ½ mile course flows through prime grouse and woodcock habit with food plots specifically designed and planted to hold birds so the hunters will be able to take this quarry as well during season and with a current WI small game license. “Sporting Birds” is comprised of 8 stations with 2 launchers at each station with a total of 21 birds, this means some launchers will hold two birds.

  • Cost per round is $250 with a maximum of 2 guns per round.
    • Cost per bird over 21 taken is $8/quail, $12/chukar, and $16/ pheasant.
    • No license or season for the quail, chukar, or pheasant is required
